Things to See and Do
The activities which we have developed or recommend are available directly from Kippford, or we have formed links with nearby specialist operators to ensure that during the day those who wish to be active are able to do so without disturbing the serenity of others hoping for peace and quiet. This ensures a wholesome blend of activity and peace.
Walks
There are various walks which we have detailed in our "Activities" guide in and around Kippford, from scenic coastal walks to marked forest trails, they commence from our own high woodland and extend to the sea.
Drives
We have produced a leaflet "Breakout" detailing seven day and half day interesting drives to help you make the most of this wonderful area, linking drive routes with places to shop, eat and visit for scenic or historical interest. Also useful for the odd rainy day.
Cycling
Dalbeattie Forest now boasts a world class Mountain Bike Track, part of the 'Seven Stanes' group of forests in Southern Scotland. There are several levels ranging from easy to extreme, these commence 200m from the Kippford road-end.
Fishing
We have our own private loch around 600m away. Fly and coarse fishing can both be found in and around Kippford, the local tackle store is McCowans & Son, 01556 610 270. Sea fishing can be very rewarding, either from the shoreline, or on a full day boat trip with 'Morgan M' 01387850413.
